SARAH HARRIS

Fashion Features Director for British Vogue, Sarah Harris has great style. She is my kind of lady! I greatly appreciate a woman who knows what she is conformable in and with that comfort exudes confidence. It seems her uniform is composed of jeans, a good pointed pump, her LV notebook, LV purse, shirts half tucked-in, sneakers, dresses over jeans and fringe.

Fun fact this beauties grey hair is natural! So yes, if you are thinking of replicating it’s wonderful array of grey’s…no can do.

McKEE’S NYC HOME

Marigay McKee is a successful woman that has recently (2013) transplanted from England to Manhattan’s Upper East Side. She worked 15 years at Harrods working her way up from beauty buyer to chief merchant and made the move to NYC to be Saks Fifth Avenue’s President. Since her arrival to the states, she has left her post with Saks and has opened her own firm, MM Luxe Consulting.

McKee’s NYC home is as marvelous as her career. It’s a 9,000 square-foot-townhouse built in 1884 by architects Douglas and John Jardine. It was decorated by Nicole Freezer Rubens.

BRRR

It is officially starting to get cold. I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year. Love because this season has the best holidays bringing you close to loved ones, getting to pull-out the new coats that you bought on sale the Spring before, snuggles near the fire place, Fall’s foliage and drinking an abundance of hot cocoa. Hate because Fall is the tip-toe season leading us into the frigged coldness we call Winter.

Brace yourselves…..I could not limit myself with the amount of pictures I was going to post. They were all too stunning.

HELLO ADELE

I am writing this post a little late but had to post Adele’s new single Hello from her anticipated new album 25. Much like everybody else in the world I was beyond excited that Adele finally resurfaced. Though I do not know her personally, I find this women with a fierce voice to be oh so humble and insanely gorgeous. Her interview with Rolling Stone was amazing, I suggest reading it immediately!

I didn’t know whether to post Adele’s ID magazine cover or only Rolling Stone’s. She looks beautifully done up on the cover of ID but the Rolling Stone cover graciously displays Adele’s raw beauty. I could not decide so I posted both.

DIA: BEACON

Went to New York to see a beloved friend of mine and he had a great idea to go out of the city to visit the DIA: Beacon. The establishment is BEAUTIFUL! I loved it so much I was day dreaming wishing it was my loft.

It is located on the banks of the Hudson River and is a former Nabisco box- printing factory. The ceiling has a million windows as well as through-out the museum bringing in a generous amount of light to showcase the contemporary pieces inside. I really liked the vertical gardens to the right of the entrance. I dream of having a vertical and symmetrical garden someday.

Richard Serra was most definitely one of my favorite artists at the museum. He is a minimalist sculptor known for working with and assembling steel on a large scale. The steel sculptures that you could walk through were amazing and had this beautiful rust color. Dan Flavin had cool and interesting light installations. Some of them, to me, resembled the Empire State building. Sol LeWitt was absolutely one of my favorites. He did these amazingly intricate drawings on the wall. He had me going cross-eyed I was staring at them so long! Seeing the Louise Bourgeois spider sculpture immediately brought me back to my childhood when I went to the Guggenheim with my mother and brother in Bilboa.

If you are ever in NY I highly recommend driving an hour and a half to visit this calming beauty.

LAZY SUNDAYS

This is the perfect Sunday to stay in bed and relax. The leaves are starting to change, it’s cold enough outside to want to stay in and be cozy. Only thing on my agenda today is to stay in bed and read a book. As you’ll notice I kind of have a love affair for beds dressed in white. There is something soothing about an all white bed, especially if there is a view. It’s like sleeping in a big puffy and fluffy cloud.

ISABELLE KOUNTOURE

I want to thank Habitually Chic for introducing me to the beautiful German/Greek, Isabelle Kountoure. She has the awesome role of being a Fashion Director at POP. I admire many peoples style but few that I can relate to currently, if you will. As I have mentioned before I have a love for wearing the color  black and numerous varieties of neutral colors. Clearly Isabelle and I have something in common! She is good at wearing black on black on black. She does a great job of layering to add depth to all the black and I like that she is feminine with a touch of tomboy at times.
