MEGHAN HOWLAND

Meghan Howland is a talented artist with several exhibits under her belt. She is 30 years old and from Haverhill, Massachusettes. The work below is oil on canvas.

I find her work beautifully haunting. Its romanticized with the use of flowers but by covering the individuals face/body the work leaves you with a sense of mystery. Makes me wonder why are they hiding.

BAILEY’S MANOR

Sooo….I’m feeling very British at the moment and had to showcase British Vogue Contributing Editor, Laura Bailey’s beautiful English country home.

This home is a great blend of minimalism and comfort…if that makes sense. The shell of the Manor is this quintessential British country home that you would expect to see…at least in my eyes but the interior is a delightful surprise. I would never expect to see glossed cabinets in the kitchen.

Laura, can I come next summer?

CALI ROW

I came upon this gem of a building recently…It is the first flagship store of the Olsen twins brand, ‘The Row’. It is a beautiful Mid-century California style store located on Melrose that was designed to give a sense of homeyness. Ashley was quoted in Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) saying “Ultimately, for us, it was about setting up like a home and just having the apparel be a part of the space”. The sisters wanted the store to be an extension of themselves and as well as be a representation of LA style.

They stayed true to their commitment of representing LA by working with local furniture and antique dealers acquiring the pieces showcased in the store, all of which are for sale.

I personally find this store breathtaking. It seems like a store that you could stroll through and appreciate the clothes. I hope to one day visit.

What are your thoughts?

STRIPES

Stripes are easily associated as being a French staple. Having just returned from the South of France, stripes are definitely on my mind. I did wear stripes while there and bought stripped basque espadrilles. A post on my trip to France will be coming soon. In the meantime stripe away!

CREAM

So fresh and so clean, clean…’ I immediately thought of this song when I decided to write this post! White and off white clothing has this refreshing quality to it. Wearing those colors can make you look clean, crisp and luxurious. It doesn’t matter the season, all white/off white together is classic and cool. I never believed in that tale that you shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day. Check out the beautiful looks below.

EMMANUELLE

This YSL Emmanuelle fringe bag is perfect for summer. The bucket bag is a classic shape and its mini size is currently in vogue. I personally have been liking mini’s and find them to be quite roomy. My friends are always stunned by how much I carry in my mini. They call mine the ‘Mary Poppin’s’ bag!! This purse is amazing and even better because it has the same name as one of my closest and dearest friends.

West Hollywood, CA - Kris Jenner ends a lunch date with actor Dean Cain at Cecconi's in West Hollywood. As the pair exited the restaurant Kris acted as if she where surprised that the cameras where there just before her skirt blew up in the wind. Kris and the former Superman, Dean chatted for a few moments before leaving separately. BIT OF FRANCE IN CALIFORNIA

This home is beautiful and blends-in well with it’s surroundings. It’s a home in California designed with a touch of the french country style. Its simplistic and beautifully decorated in neutral tones with rustic finishes.
